We are Pastors Melvin and Felicia Wallace of the Light of the World Church of God, striving each day to be a “beacon of light” in the lives of those who are lost, battered, and struggling for the basic necessities (food, shelter, and clothing). We work to bridge the gap of despair through fellowship and the breaking of bread together with compassion and concern.
Each week we build a sanctuary of hope at the APM Suites in Hagerstown, MD to share the “Greatest Gift” given to mankind through our Lord Jesus Christ and bring hope to families and individuals who are homeless, battling addictions, enduring financial hardships, and separated from family or friends, often not of their own making.
Imagine having to battle health issues and suddenly losing your husband and mother to COVID both in 2021, and a son to fentanyl addiction. Then widowed and alone facing eviction because she could not pay $4,000 in trailer lot rent and property taxes that totaled more than $3,000. Or having your home condemned because you cannot pay a $260.00 water bill; or being without family and forced to be on the streets with your children to even apply and qualify for social assistance, or finding a job but having no means to pay for a place to stay even temporarily.
The plights are real and far-reaching; when people are in crisis we work diligently to meet the need, calling upon other ministries and social agencies to find help, while lending our hands in support to give back in return even if it means traveling great distances across state-lines.
In addition to our weekly worship services, our on-line Christian Outreach Ministry reaches the masses within the U.S. and abroad, to include Asia, Africa, South Africa, and Europe, providing through our podcast, words of encouragement, devotionals, and inspirational writings.
